Protection Class Rating – According to Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau (WSRB), Spokane County Fire District 8 maintains an overall community protection class of 4.

Buildings and property located within the Spokane County Fire District 8 community are eligible for a protection class 4 as long as the building or property meets the distance requirements to one of our fire stations and applicable fire hydrant requirements.

For example:
If your home is located within 5 road miles from a fire station, and within 1000 feet of a fire hydrant, then you will have a protection class 4 rating.

If your home is located within 5 road miles from a fire station, and is more than 1000 feet of a fire hydrant, then you will have a protection class 5 rating.

If your home is between 5 and 7 road miles from a fire station then you will have a protection class 9 rating.

If your home is located more than 7 road miles from a fire station you will have a protection class 9A rating.

Spokane County Fire District 8 Fire Station Locations:

Mutual Aid agreement: Spokane County Fire District 8 has mutual aid agreements with all Spokane County fire agencies.

Automatic Aid agreements: Spokane County Fire District 8 has automatic aid agreements with Spokane Valley Fire Department and Spokane Fire Department. We also have automatic aid (but no written agreement) with Fire District 3 for the Ridge at Hangman.

Station Staffing: Spokane County Fire District 8 fire stations are staffed 24-hours-a-day.
