STATION 81

Station 81 is located on the City of Spokane’s south hill. The station is staffed on a three-shift rotation with a minimum of one full-time Captain Firefighter / EMT, one full-time Firefighter / EMT, and one full-time Firefighter / Paramedic or part-time Firefghter / Paramedic. When available, the station is also staffed with a fourth responder who is a part-time Firefighter / EMT, Volunteer Firefighter, or Resident Volunteer Firefighter. Supplemental response is provided with additional apparatus and staffing by Volunteer & Resident Volunteer Firefighters. A mix of commercial, residential development and small dry land farms encompass 81's service area of Moran Prairie, Glenrose, Valley View Hills, Hangman Hills, the Ridge at Hangman, and Browns Mountain. Much of Station 81's response area is supplied with hydrants served by City of Spokane water; rural areas rely on water tender operations. Station 81 provides additional response coverage to Station 82 located in Valleyford.
STATION 82

Station 82 is located in Valleyford on the Palouse Highway and serves as the Administrative Offices and Headquarters for Fire District 8. The offices of the Fire Chief, chief staff, and administration are also located at this facility. The station is staffed by one full-time Lieutenant Firefighter / EMT or full-time Firefighter / EMT, plus one full-time Firefighter / Paramedic or one part-time Firefighter / Paramedic on a three-shift rotation. When available, the station is also staffed with a third part-time Firefighter / EMT, Resident Volunteer Firefighter or Volunteer Firefighter. Supplemental response is provided with additional apparatus and staffing by Volunteer and Resident Volunteer Firefighters. Station 82 serves a mix of small commercial, residential and dryland farms in Valleyford, Freeman and Mica. The Station 82 response area has no fire hydrants and relies on water tender operations. This station provides secondary response to Stations 81 and 84.
STATION 84

Station 84 is located in the Ponderosa development on the southern edge of the City of Spokane Valley. The station serves Ponderosa, Painted Hills, Chester and Dishman-Mica. Station 84 is staffed by one full-time Lieutenant Firefighter / EMT, one full-time Firefighter / Paramedic, and one part-time Firefighter / EMT on a three-shift rotation. When available, response is also provided by a fourth Volunteer Firefighter / EMT and/or Resident Volunteer Firefighter. Supplemental response with additional apparatus and staffing is provided by Volunteer and Resident Volunteer firefighters. Station 84 serves an area of residential developments and small farms. Station 84's response area has hydrants served by Spokane County Water District 3. Rural areas rely on water tender operations. This station provides secondary response to Stations 82 and 85 and provides automatic/mutual aid response to portions of Spokane Valley under an auto-aid agreement with Spokane Valley Fire Department.
STATION 85

Station 85 is located in the Saltese area and serves Bella Vista, Saltese, and south Liberty Lake. The station is staffed by one full-time Lieutenant Firefighter / EMT and one full-time Firefighter/Paramedic or full-time Firefighter / EMT on a three-shift rotation. When available, response is also provided by a third part-time Firefighter / EMT, Volunteer or Resident Volunteer Firefighter. Supplemental response is provided by Volunteer and Resident Volunteer Firefighters. Station 85 serves an area of residential developments and small farms. The Station developments have hydrants which are served by Spokane County Water District 3 and Vera Water and Power. Rural areas rely on water tender operations.
