Paramedic Service
Fire District 8 Paramedic Service
Fire District 8 paramedics provide advanced patient care (ALS), including medication administration, electrocardiogram monitoring, intravenous therapy, and advanced respiratory/airway care. Prior to certification, paramedics complete an intense 1,200 hour training course including classroom training, in-hospital clinical rotations, and field internships. Excellent patient care is ensured by the District's participation at the Spokane County EMS Quality Improvement Committee, as well as internal oversight by the agency's physician advisor, Dr. Michael Metcalf.
